Hot conditions for Race Day

We now know that this Sunday is forecast for a beautiful, clear 28 degrees, making it the second hottest conditions in the events 23 year history. Once above 1000m at the Chalet, no more tree cover will leave you exposed to the direct sun. Interstate competitiors, the Tassie sun bites hard when we get these conditions, so please everyone start pre hydrating, aim for 8 glasses of water / 2L and or Electrolyte drink on saturday. Make sure you apply sunscreen before you arrive at the startline, wear a hat. If you are sending a gear bag to the finish on one of the gear bag buses, pack a light weight long sleeve top to keep the sun off and pack an extra bottle of water. We will have extra water available at the start area, 6 drink stations on course and Gatorade at the last 3 plus a 600ml bottle of Hartz Water at the Finish Line. There is extensive medical coverage provided by St Johns and The SES. We hope you enjoy your day but turn up prepared for a hot race on Sunday
